We were both born and raised in California, on the church pews with our families every week. When we met in our early 20s on a mission trip, we both were seeking a true religion, something much different than the hypocrisy that we had experienced everywhere across denominations, the U.S., and abroad. We were living this form of religion that said "grace covers all" and that we were okay, sinning deliberately, and being patted on the back for our service and contribution to various ministries. We dove into ministry in local churches, leading music at a large church together on and off for 15 years, among other things. But with no connection to God, we were left empty and seeking...even though we were "involved in the church." Our marriage and family was suffering greatly, and was near an end. Ten-plus years of marriage counseling had not provided any help, healing or answers. Things grew worse and we went through the misery of constant arguing and several separations, while continuing to be asked to lead others in churches. Something was wrong with that picture.
The blessing to be a part of this Remnant of the Kingdom of Love Church Body, and to serve God and His Saints in any way, is a GREAT honor.
When we found Remnant Fellowship church in 2012 and began to listen to the past talks and testimonies available online, it was the Truth that began to set us free in every way, immediately! We heard Gwen Shamblin share that we CAN love God with all of our hearts, obey Him fully, and that we CAN lay down sin! This Truth found in the Bible and taught here at Remnant Fellowship, transformed us as we put it into practice. We visited the Brentwood, Tennessee Remnant, and we spent time with Gwen Shamblin, her family, and with Remnant Fellowship Church leaders and the members. We quickly knew that we had found what we had never been able produce with many years of work in all other places...GOOD FRUIT! This Church is full to overflowing with true spiritual fruit (Matthew 7, Galatians 5)! We saw the Word of God becoming flesh as it was lived out wholeheartedly by the many living examples in this Church, starting with Gwen Shamblin and her family first, and they were setting this example in the midst of all kinds of persecution. Never had we seen such reverence, love and respect for God and His Son Jesus Christ lived out completely, every second of every day like this, especially by a leader. We webcasted in California for a short time before God moved our family to Brentwood in early 2013.
The blessing to be a part of this Remnant of the Kingdom of Love Church Body, and to serve God and His Saints in any way, is a GREAT honor. We will never be able to give God enough credit, enough gratitude, enough thanks, but we will spend our lives until our last breath doing our best to give Him all!
